Description
The dovecot-core package can be removed with the following command:
$ apt-get remove dovecot-core
Rationale
If there is no need to make the Dovecot software available,
removing it provides a safeguard against its activation.
Shell script
The following script can be run on the host to remediate the issue.
#!/bin/bash
# CAUTION: This remediation script will remove dovecot-core
# from the system, and may remove any packages
# that depend on dovecot-core. Execute this
# remediation AFTER testing on a non-production
# system!
DEBIAN_FRONTEND=noninteractive apt-get remove -y "dovecot-core"
Ansible playbook
