Uninstall DHCP Server Package
If the system does not need to act as a DHCP server,
the dhcp package can be uninstalled.
The isc-dhcp-server
package can be removed with the following command:
$ apt-get remove isc-dhcp-server
Removing the DHCP server ensures that it cannot be easily or
accidentally reactivated and disrupt network operation.
The following script can be run on the host to remediate the issue.
#!/bin/bash
# CAUTION: This remediation script will remove isc-dhcp-server
# from the system, and may remove any packages
# that depend on isc-dhcp-server. Execute this
# remediation AFTER testing on a non-production
# system!
DEBIAN_FRONTEND=noninteractive apt-get remove -y "isc-dhcp-server"
The following playbook can be run with Ansible to remediate the issue.
