Uninstall vsftpd Package

Description

The vsftpd package can be removed with the following command:

 $ apt-get remove vsftpd

Rationale

Removing the vsftpd package decreases the risk of its accidental activation.

Remediation

Shell script

The following script can be run on the host to remediate the issue.

#!/bin/bash

# CAUTION: This remediation script will remove vsftpd
#	   from the system, and may remove any packages
#	   that depend on vsftpd. Execute this
#	   remediation AFTER testing on a non-production
#	   system!

DEBIAN_FRONTEND=noninteractive apt-get remove -y "vsftpd"

Ansible playbook
