Description

Newer versions of Python software are periodically released to address security flaws and provide additional functionality. It is recommended to use the latest version for web apps to maximize security and leverage new features. Organizations should evaluate each update for compatibility and support with other software components.

Remediation

To update your Azure Web App to use the latest version of Python:

Access the Azure portal and navigate to your web app.
In the left-hand menu, go to the Configuration section.
Under the General Settings tab, locate the Python version setting.
Click on the dropdown and select the latest version of Python available.
Save the changes and wait for the web app to restart with the updated Python version.
Once the restart is complete, validate and test your web app to ensure it is running successfully with the latest Python version.
